Wow, it's me!

About

Hi there! I’m Mafora, a professional Illustrator and Designer from Okinawa, Japan! As a kid, I always knew I wanted to be an artist but I never knew how I wanted to do that. Growing up in Japan I was surrounded by so many cute characters and the rise of mascot culture. So as my style and skills began to develop I felt compelled to make my own character series, now known as Mafora!

After graduating from college with my Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and a Master's degree in Media Design, I moved to America to pursue my passion for creating simplistic characters, illustrations, and designs.

My artistic journey is deeply influenced by the Superflat art movement, which celebrates the intersection of traditional Japanese art and contemporary culture. I aspire to create works that embody the movement's spirit of flatness, depthlessness, and boundary-pushing creativity.

Whether it's designing a captivating logo, designing a new character, or making a silly sticker, I approach each project with a blend of technical expertise and my personal artistic vison. My goal is to bring a touch of fun to the world around me, one artwork at a time.

Cool stuff I've gotten to work on!
